Clemson’s Klubnik Leads AP Preseason All-Americans in College Football
The 2025 college football preseason honors feature standout players across several conferences, highlighting top teams and individual talents. Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik was the overwhelming preseason choice for first-team quarterback on the AP All-America team after an impressive 2024 season with 3,639 yards, 39 touchdowns, and just six interceptions. Ohio State's Caleb Downs, a projected top-three pick in the 2026 NFL draft, earned recognition alongside wide receiver Jeremiah Smith on the preseason All-America first team. Texas and Penn State, ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the AP preseason poll, each had three players selected for the All-America team, including key defensive and offensive contributors. NC State placed two offensive players—tight end Justin Joly and left tackle Jacarrius Peak—on the PFF Preseason All-ACC teams, reflecting strong individual performances from last season. The Southeastern Conference led with 12 players on the 27-man AP first team, followed by the Big Ten with seven, the ACC with four, and the Big 12 with two, illustrating the depth of talent across college football.
