Kain Medrano Drafted by Commanders as NFL Linebacker

The Washington Commanders selected UCLA linebacker Kain Medrano with the 205th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Medrano, a team captain and standout for the Bruins, earned third-team All-Big Ten honors and demonstrated versatility with 72 tackles, 1.5 sacks, two interceptions (one for a touchdown), and three forced fumbles in his final season. Known for his speed, Medrano tied for the second-fastest forty-time for a linebacker in NFL Combine history at 4.46 seconds. He is expected to immediately contribute on special teams and potentially work his way into defensive sub-packages.
