New Haven Police Continue Search Sexual Assault Suspect Fort Hale Park

New Haven police are actively searching for a Hispanic male suspect in his late 30s to early 40s, approximately 5'6" to 5'7" tall with a medium build, who allegedly sexually assaulted a jogger near Fort Hale Dog Park on August 9 between 7:30 and 8:15 a.m. The suspect was described as wearing a blue patterned polo shirt, gray dress pants, and brown dress shoes, with dark brown or black cropped hair, a short beard, and possibly a rash around his mouth. He was armed with a silver box cutter and spoke with a broken English accent. Police have released a sketch of the man and are urging anyone with information or video footage in the area from early that morning to contact the New Haven Police Department or use anonymous tip lines. Increased patrols have been implemented in the area as the investigation continues. The police emphasize the importance of community assistance to identify and apprehend the suspect.
