Man Missing After Saving Child From Columbia River Vancouver

A 54-year-old man is presumed drowned after rescuing a 5-year-old child struggling to stay afloat in the Columbia River near Wintler Park in Vancouver, Washington. The man entered the river to assist the child and successfully saved him but then disappeared underwater and did not resurface. Emergency crews, including rescue swimmers, fire boats, and the U.S. Coast Guard, conducted a search involving 23 personnel, but the rescue effort was suspended after nearly two hours without locating the man.
