Juvenile Driver Killed in LAPD DUI Pursuit Crash Westchester

On March 28, a high-speed police pursuit of a burgundy SUV suspected of DUI in Westchester ended tragically when the juvenile driver, later identified as Glendon Robateau, ran a red light at Century and Sepulveda boulevards and collided with a compact sedan. The SUV then crashed into a pole, resulting in the death of the teenage driver at the scene. Two passengers, a 19-year-old from Los Angeles and a 22-year-old from Hawthorne, fled but were quickly apprehended by Airport Police and treated for minor injuries. The sedan's driver also sustained minor injuries and is recovering in the hospital. Police initially disengaged from the pursuit due to the SUV's high speed to reduce public risk, and the surviving occupants are cooperating with investigators.
