Apple TV+ has secured a multi-year, first-look feature film deal with The North Road Company’s Chernin Entertainment, known for producing acclaimed films such as "Ford v Ferrari," "Hidden Figures," "Planet of the Apes," and "The Greatest Showman." This partnership builds on their successful collaboration in television, including the upcoming historical miniseries "Chief of War" starring Jason Momoa, set to premiere on August 1. Chernin Entertainment, established three years ago under The North Road Company, spans scripted, unscripted, and documentary content, with recent hits like "Back in Action" and "Fear Street: Prom Queen" on Netflix. The deal aligns with Apple TV+'s growing momentum in original films, following its Academy Award-winning picture "CODA" in 2021 and other high-profile projects like "F1 The Movie" starring Brad Pitt. Peter Chernin, chairman of The North Road Company, praised Apple for being smart, daring, and supportive, expressing excitement to expand their collaboration into feature films. This agreement further strengthens Apple TV+'s position in the competitive streaming market by partnering with a proven production powerhouse.
