Ukraine launches licensed FPV drone production

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defence has initiated licensed production of FPV drones at a state-owned facility, following a trilateral agreement with a private developer. This collaboration aims to enable the Ukrainian Defence Forces to benefit from enhanced UAV production capabilities and improve competition and product quality in the market. Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk highlighted that integrating state-run enterprises into production chains has clarified costs and competitive advantages. The Ministry has also developed a roadmap to foster similar manufacturing partnerships with other UAV developers, aiming to significantly increase production capacity. This project aligns with Ukraine's goal to ramp up drone production, with over 70 UAVs codified and operational within the first half of 2024 alone. The initiative reflects a strategic move to bolster Ukraine's defence capabilities amidst ongoing conflict with Russia, which is simultaneously expanding its own drone production efforts.
