Indiana AG Probes Tyson Foods for Labor Trafficking

Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita has initiated a probe into Tyson Foods' meat factory in Logansport over concerns related to human labor trafficking, prompted by a significant influx of migrants into local communities. A civil investigative demand (CID) has been issued to Tyson Foods seeking information about its labor recruitment practices, although the company itself is not under formal investigation. Rokita's office indicated that there is reasonable cause to believe Tyson may possess relevant information regarding human trafficking and related activities. The investigation also aims to examine the coordinated efforts among various nonprofits and businesses that facilitate the settlement of large numbers of migrants in Indiana. Rokita emphasized the need to address the issue to protect local resources, law enforcement, and the job market.
