Gresham Man Arrested After Assault, Firing Gun During Police Standoff

Cameron Styles, a 33-year-old man from Gresham, was arrested after allegedly assaulting an elderly resident and firing a gun while fleeing police. Officers responded to a report of an assault involving a weapon at a home on Southeast Oak Street, where they found the victim with visible injuries. Styles, who had an outstanding felony warrant for attempting to elude police, exited the home armed with a rifle and fired a shot while running through the neighborhood. Police used a drone to track him and employed less lethal force, including impact munitions and a taser, to apprehend him. He faces multiple charges, including menacing, unlawful use of a weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, fourth-degree assault, obstructing governmental administration, and third-degree escape. The incident involved cooperation between Gresham Police and Multnomah County Sheriff's deputies.
