Marriott Plans World's Largest Courtyard Hotel in Makkah

Marriott International has signed an agreement with Al Qimmah Hospitality Company and Amwaj Real Estate Company to establish the world's largest Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, set to open in 2026. The new hotel will feature 2,179 rooms and is part of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 initiative, which aims to enhance the country’s status as a hub for religious and cultural tourism. Dr. Abdul Razzaq BinDawood, Chairman of Al Qimmah, emphasized that the development aligns with the ongoing commitment to provide high-quality accommodations for visitors to the Holy Mosque. Chadi Hauch, Marriott's Regional Vice President, highlighted the agreement's significance in reinforcing the company's support for Saudi Arabia's tourism sector. The Courtyard by Marriott brand is known for its extensive global reach and sophisticated design, promising an elevated experience for its guests. This project represents a key expansion in Marriott’s portfolio in a region that anticipates hosting 30 million religious tourists by 2030.
