Cardiff City Fires Manager Erol Bulut

Cardiff City has sacked manager Erol Bulut following a poor start to the Championship season, which saw the team remain winless and at the bottom of the table with just one point from six matches. The latest 2-0 defeat to Leeds United marked Bulut's final game in charge, resulting in the club's worst start in 94 years. Although Bulut had signed a two-year contract extension in June 2023 after a mid-table finish last season, the board decided to make a change after the team's dismal performance. First-team coach Nikolaos Karydas has also been relieved of his duties, with Omer Riza appointed as interim manager. Cardiff's statement expressed gratitude towards Bulut for his contributions and confirmed that they are in search of a new manager.
