Nebraska, Penn State Lead Big Ten Volleyball Poll

Nebraska has been chosen as the preseason favorite to win the Big Ten volleyball title, with reigning national champion Penn State projected second and Wisconsin third according to the conference’s 18 head coaches. Wisconsin, which finished third last season, will play both Penn State and Nebraska only once in the upcoming schedule. Three Wisconsin players—Carter Booth, Charlie Fuerbringer, and Mimi Colyer—were named to the preseason all-conference team, with Fuerbringer and Colyer also making the AVCA Player of the Year watch list. Illinois is predicted to finish ninth and had no preseason all-conference selections. Five players were unanimous preseason all-conference picks: Nebraska’s Harper Murray, Andi Jackson, and Bergen Reilly, and Penn State’s Kennedy Martin and Izzy Starck. The poll and honors were released ahead of Big Ten media days, signaling a competitive season ahead.
