Arsenal Extend William Saliba Until 2030

Arsenal have tied down William Saliba with a new five-year contract running until 2030, ending prolonged negotiations and reported interest from Real Madrid. The 24-year-old France international has made around 140 appearances since joining from Saint-Étienne in 2019 and is regarded as one of Europe’s top centre-backs and a PFA Team of the Year regular. Saliba said he is happy at Arsenal, feels at home, vowed to give “even more” and pledged to repay fan loyalty by helping the club win major trophies. Manager Mikel Arteta praised Saliba’s character, commitment and connection with supporters, while sporting director Andrea Berta highlighted his composure, intelligence and importance to the project. Berta said the signing follows several contract renewals he has overseen — including Gabriel, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly — and, combined with summer recruits Viktor Gyökeres, Noni Madueke, Eberechi Eze and Cristhian Mosquera, underlines Arsenal’s ambition to convert recent near-misses into silverware.
