Sompo, WTW Launch Global Radar Insurance Technology Deployment

Sompo Holdings, a leading Japanese insurer, has partnered with WTW to deploy WTW’s Radar technology globally across the Sompo Group to enhance data-driven management in pricing, underwriting, and portfolio optimization. Radar, a predictive modeling and machine learning tool, enables insurers to analyze customer risk profiles in real time and rapidly adjust premiums without requiring programming expertise. Sompo Direct Insurance has already implemented Radar in its automobile insurance business since June 2025, allowing it to respond swiftly to market and accident trend changes with more accurate pricing. The technology integrates premium decisions directly into production environments, bypassing traditional development bottlenecks and facilitating agile product launches. Sompo has begun expanding Radar beyond Japan, starting with Turkey, with plans to extend its deployment across Southeast Asia. Both Sompo and WTW emphasize that Radar’s capabilities improve flexibility and speed in non-life insurance product development and market responsiveness.
