Billions actor charged with murder

Akili McDowell, a 21-year-old actor known for his roles in 'David Makes Man' and 'Billions', has been arrested and charged with the murder of 20-year-old Cesar Peralta, who was shot and killed in a Houston parking lot on July 20. McDowell was arrested on August 2 and is currently held with a bond set at $400,000. He is also facing a theft charge related to an incident from July 2023. According to charging documents, he allegedly caused Peralta's death 'unlawfully, intentionally and knowingly' with a firearm. McDowell's manager described the situation as 'unfortunate' and expressed prayers for those affected. McDowell is scheduled for court appearances regarding both charges in the coming weeks.
