MLC's Third Season to Debut at Oakland Coliseum

The Oakland Coliseum will host Major League Cricket (MLC) matches for the first time from June 12-18, marking a significant milestone in expanding cricket's presence in the United States. This event will kick off MLC's third season, featuring nine matches, including the San Francisco Unicorns facing the Washington Freedom in the opening game. The Coliseum, which has been reconfigured to meet international cricket standards, will accommodate 12,000 spectators and bring a projected $3 million economic boost to Oakland. MLC aims to broaden its reach beyond traditional audiences, aligning with a billion-dollar initiative to grow cricket in the U.S. This move also establishes the Unicorns’ home base, following the departure of the Oakland A's and Raiders, highlighting the stadium's adaptability for hosting the world's second-most-watched sport. The season will continue in Dallas and Florida, marking the first time MLC plays in California, further solidifying cricket's growing appeal in the country.
