BlackSky Technology has secured a significant seven-figure data services contract with HEO to enhance automated low-latency capabilities for non-Earth imaging (NEI) services, aimed at defense, intelligence, and commercial sectors. The partnership will integrate BlackSky's existing satellite constellation into HEO's NEI sensor network, with the contract advancing into a second phase focused on automating the tasking-to-delivery process. BlackSky will provide high-resolution imagery from mid-inclination orbits, which is expected to improve NEI data capture feasibility over Earth's middle latitudes. This new capability allows BlackSky to utilize previously unused satellite capacity, particularly during periods of eclipse or over oceans. Both companies emphasize the importance of real-time monitoring in the increasingly contested space domain, which enhances situational awareness for their customers. Clients will be able to request NEI imagery via HEO's automated platform, HEO Inspect, streamlining the delivery of actionable space-based intelligence.
