Vinesh Phogat's Silver Medal Appeal Dismissed

Her uncle, Mahavir Phogat, stated that they will welcome her back to India on August 17 like a gold medalist and will encourage her to prepare for the 2028 Olympics despite her recent retirement announcement. Vinesh expressed her emotional turmoil in a social media post, stating she felt defeated and no longer had the strength to continue in wrestling. The CAS verdict, which was delayed multiple times, confirmed that there would be no further action available to Vinesh regarding her Olympic medal pursuit. Vinesh had a promising journey in the Olympics until her disqualification, having previously defeated strong competitors to reach the final. Mahavir Phogat also mentioned their plans to prepare other wrestlers, including Sangeeta and Ritu Phogat, for the upcoming Olympics.
