Leonard's Buzzer-Beater Lifts Clippers 126-124
Kawhi Leonard hit a buzzer‑beating pull‑up from the wing to lift the Los Angeles Clippers to a 126-124 win over the New Orleans Pelicans in their NBA Cup group opener at Intuit Dome. Leonard finished with a season-high 34 points (11-of-16, 5-of-8 from three), five rebounds, five assists, six steals and a perfect 7-of-7 from the line, and the shot was the third buzzer‑beater of his career. James Harden added 24 points and 14 assists and Ivica Zubac posted 14 points and 11 rebounds. Jordan Poole scored 30 off the bench and Zion Williamson had 29 as the Pelicans rallied late but dropped to 0-5 on the season. The Clippers built a 17-point lead earlier before New Orleans' late surge; the win served as a needed response after a recent loss while highlighting areas the Clippers must still shore up.
