Kroger has opened a new 66,000 square-foot store on Ballardsville Road in Louisville, featuring amenities like a Starbucks, fuel center, and drive-thru Wine and Spirits Shoppe, marking its 27th store in Jefferson County. Meanwhile, Publix continues its expansion into Kentucky with plans for 12 locations, including a new store in Elizabethtown at the northeast corner of Pear Orchard Road and Ring Road. The Elizabethtown Publix will include a 55,325-square-foot supermarket and a 3,300-square-foot Publix Liquors. Publix also opened its first Kentucky store in Louisville earlier this year. The expansion is anticipated to create around 900 new jobs across its locations.
