Saudi Teacher Mansour Al Mansour Wins $1 Million Global Teacher Prize

Mansour Al Mansour, a Saudi teacher recognized for his extensive charity work, was awarded the GEMS Education Global Teacher Prize, valued at $1 million, during the World Governments Summit in Dubai. Presented by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the award highlights Al Mansour's transformative contributions to education and his community, including over 3,000 hours of volunteer service and initiatives like ensuring air conditioning maintenance during harsh summers. Al Mansour was selected from over 5,000 nominations from 89 countries, marking him as the ninth recipient since the award's inception in 2015. The prize, facilitated by the Varkey Foundation, aims to honor exceptional educators worldwide and elevate their contributions to society. GEMS Education, the organization behind the award, continues expanding in Dubai, reflecting the city’s educational evolution amidst its economic growth. The new Gems School of Research and Innovation will cater to affluent families with state-of-the-art facilities.
