Alyssa Nakken Joins Guardians, Makes MLB History

Alyssa Nakken, recognized as the first female full-time coach in Major League Baseball history, is joining the Cleveland Guardians in a player development role, departing from the San Francisco Giants where she made significant contributions since 2020. Nakken's tenure with the Giants was marked by her historic role as the first woman to coach on the field during an MLB game and her interview for a managerial position in 2023. She became MLB’s first mom-coach in 2024. In Cleveland, she will reunite with former Giants coaches Craig Albernaz and Kai Correa.
