Woman Killed by Boat Propeller in Florida

A woman died after falling overboard and being struck by a boat propeller on the Ocklawaha River near Nelson’s Fish Camp in Umatilla, Florida, on July 21, 2024. The incident, which occurred around 1:30 p.m., involved a pontoon boat carrying eight people. She sustained fatal injuries from the propeller and was pronounced dead while being transported to a hospital. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is conducting an ongoing investigation and has not released the woman's identity.
