Multiple Big Lottery Wins Reported Nationwide
Multiple large lottery prizes and scratch-off wins were reported across the U.S. this week. In Massachusetts, Pany Phonyotha of Worcester won $1 million on a "Diamond Deluxe" instant ticket and took the $650,000 cash option; the state also reported a $1 million prize from the "$2,000,000 50X Cashword" $10 scratch ticket sold at a Cumberland Farms in Orange and hundreds of other prizes of $600 or more statewide. Connecticut reported a $2.2 million Lotto! prize claimed by a Berlin resident (who plans to visit family in India) and two additional $1 million winners, and the state will stop publishing winners’ names without consent beginning Oct. 1 under a new law. New Jersey officials reported significant scratch-off wins including a $600,000 ticket sold in Rutherford and a $200,000 top prize in Hamilton, while other notable prizes included a $250,000 ticket in Perry, Iowa. Several Powerball second-tier $1 million tickets were sold this week — including at a Safeway in Kent, Washington, and Golden Ox Liquors in Jacksonville, Florida — and state lotteries continue to post daily results, promote official digital couriers like Jackpocket, and remind players about responsible gambling resources.
