In anticipation of increased passenger demand during the festival season, Indian Railways is launching several special trains across different routes. Southern Railway will operate tri-weekly special trains between Tambaram and Ramanathapuram from September 19 to October 1, featuring a mix of AC, sleeper, and general coaches. Meanwhile, Central Railway will run 14 Unreserved Ganpati Special Trains from Mumbai to Khed to accommodate devotees for Ganeshotsav 2024. Additionally, two special trains will operate between Panvel and Madgaon for the return journey of passengers following Ganeshotsav celebrations. Furthermore, an extensive schedule of 88 Diwali/Chhat specials will connect Pune to various destinations, including Hazrat Nizamuddin and Nagpur, from late October to early November. Reservations for all these special trains are now open, with varying service details provided by the respective railway authorities.
