Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman’s “Time to Say Goodbye” remains the most popular song played at funerals in the UK, according to Co-op Funeralcare's study of over 90,000 services. Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” ranks second, followed by Eva Cassidy’s “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” in third place, with other top selections including Tina Turner’s “The Best” and Westlife’s “You Raise Me Up.” The chart highlights a shift away from traditional hymns, with only “Abide With Me” appearing in the top 10, and features a variety of unconventional funeral songs such as “Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead,” the Jaws soundtrack, and the Vengaboys’ “We Like to Party.” Liverpool FC’s “You’ll Never Walk Alone” remains the top sports-themed funeral song, while the annual chart underscores the personal significance music holds in commemorating loved ones. Gill Stewart, managing director at Co-op Funeralcare, emphasized the importance of choosing meaningful music as part of the farewell process and encouraged open discussions about end-of-life planning.
