Minnesota native Dakotah Lindwurm qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics by coming in third at the U.S. Olympic Marathon trials in Orlando. She won both the 2021 and 2022 Grandma's Marathons and became the 12th-fastest U.S. women's marathoner of all time. Leonard Korir finished third in the men's race, while training partner Conner Mantz finished first. Fiona O'Keeffe, who finished first in the women's race, had the fastest women's time in the U.S. Olympic trials marathon. Emily Sisson, the American record holder in the marathon, finished second. Lindwurm, a St. Francis native, was a former goalie for her high school girls' hockey team and a Division II all-America in track at Northern State University.
