Milutin Osmajic, a striker for Preston North End, has been handed an eight-match ban and a £15,000 fine by the Football Association for biting Blackburn's Owen Beck during a recent goalless draw. The incident occurred late in the match after Beck had been sent off for kicking another player, and Osmajic's actions went unnoticed by the match officials at the time. Following an investigation, the FA charged Osmajic with violent conduct, which he admitted, resulting in the significant suspension. Despite the ban, Osmajic was able to play in two subsequent matches, scoring twice in a win over Watford. Blackburn manager John Eustace expressed disappointment that the referee missed the biting incident, which left visible marks on Beck. Preston has stated that they will not comment further until the FA's written reasons for the ban are published.
