Affordable Housing Developments for Seniors Unveiled

Several new affordable housing projects for seniors are underway across the U.S. In Greenville, South Carolina, a 93-apartment development named 'Southernside Senior I' has received Planning Commission approval and aims to serve individuals earning up to 60% of the area median income. In Baltimore, two projects, Greens at Irvington Mews II and Park Heights Place, are set to provide a total of 143 homes for older adults and veterans, emphasizing community partnerships. Union City will also see the addition of 80 one-bedroom apartments at Crossing Pointe, enhancing the Christian City campus's offerings for seniors. In New York City, the Sutphin Senior Residence is expected to open in 2025, providing 173 low-income apartments and an on-site health center. Meanwhile, Namibia is addressing its housing crisis with a newly launched Housing Fund aimed at developing affordable homes in response to national housing needs.
