Megan Thee Stallion Seeks Sanctions Against Tory Lanez Ally in Defamation Deposition
Megan Thee Stallion is pursuing sanctions against Ceasar McDowell, CEO of the nonprofit Unite the People and close ally of Tory Lanez, for his disruptive and disrespectful behavior during a deposition in her defamation lawsuit against blogger Milagro Gramz. McDowell, who represents Lanez in his criminal appeal, was accused of rolling and smoking a marijuana cigarette on camera, repeatedly evading questions with responses such as "I don't remember" over 350 times, threatening to urinate in the deposition room, and using derogatory language toward Megan's attorneys. This conduct reportedly mirrors that of Tory Lanez, who was also sanctioned for similar disruptive behavior during his deposition. Megan's legal team alleges that McDowell coordinated with Lanez and others to spread misinformation about the shooting case, obstructing meaningful testimony and mocking the court's authority. The court has ordered McDowell to submit to another deposition before September 22, with Megan's attorneys seeking sanctions and costs to be borne by him. DJ Akademiks, another figure accused of spreading misinformation about the case, also exhibited evasive behavior during his deposition, suggesting a coordinated effort to evade accountability.
