Man and Dog Struck in Absecon Hit-and-Run

In Annapolis, an elderly man named David Chan, 74, and his dog were fatally struck by a minivan while crossing the road shortly after leaving his home. Meanwhile, in Absecon, a 25-year-old man, Syed Hoque, suffered life-threatening injuries and his dog was killed in a hit-and-run incident involving a vehicle driven by Byron A. Jones, 52, who fled but was later apprehended. The crash, which occurred at the intersection of Highland Boulevard and Marlborough Avenue, caused traffic delays for around four hours. Both cases are under investigation by local police departments. Authorities are calling for witnesses to come forward with any information related to the incidents.
