An 82-year-old man named Jim Harris was found dead in the River Don in Mexborough, Doncaster, leading to a murder investigation. Emergency services responded at 7:36 AM, but Mr. Harris was pronounced dead at the scene. Two men, aged 30 and 32, were arrested on suspicion of murder but have been released on police bail pending further inquiries. South Yorkshire Police have set up a crime scene along a 1km stretch of the river and are appealing for witnesses who were in the area between 6 AM and 8 AM. Detective Chief Inspector Tom Woodward emphasized the early stages of the investigation and urged anyone with information or footage to come forward.
