Man repeatedly stabs wife
Mark Taylor has been sentenced to 23 years in prison for the attempted murder of his wife, Suzanne Taylor, during a brutal knife attack on February 15 in Baslow, Derbyshire. The assault was so violent that one knife snapped, prompting Taylor to grab a second knife and continue stabbing her while demanding her phone under the pretense of calling an ambulance. After the attack, Taylor locked his wife in the house and fled with their teenage son, but Suzanne managed to escape and call for help, ultimately leading to her hospitalization for multiple stab wounds. Taylor was apprehended later that day in Cheshire, after police tracked his vehicle using automatic number plate recognition. During the trial, it was revealed that Suzanne had suffered domestic abuse for nearly 40 years at the hands of her husband. In addition to his prison sentence, Taylor received a five-year extension for dangerousness and an indefinite restraining order barring him from contacting his wife and son.
