Rush Plans 2026 North American Reunion Tour with Tribute to Late Drummer Neil Peart
The iconic Canadian rock band Rush, featuring founding members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, announced a reunion tour titled the Fifty Something Tour for 2026, marking their first performances since drummer Neil Peart's death in 2020. The tour will cover seven cities in North America, including multiple shows in Los Angeles, Fort Worth, Chicago, New York, Toronto, with single dates in Mexico City and Cleveland, starting June 7 in Los Angeles and ending September 17 in Cleveland. German drummer Anika Nilles, known for her work with Jeff Beck, will join Lee and Lifeson as the new drummer, filling the irreplaceable role left by Peart. The tour will feature "evening with" style shows with two career-spanning sets each night, showcasing around 35 songs from Rush's extensive catalog. Both Lee and Lifeson expressed that the decision to tour again came after private jam sessions reignited their passion for performing Rush's music, and the tour is dedicated to celebrating the band's 50-plus years and Peart's legacy. Peart's widow and daughter have expressed support and excitement for this new chapter, highlighting the tour as a tribute to Peart's extraordinary legacy as a drummer and lyricist.
