In the film, Stone plays a high-powered CEO kidnapped by conspiracy theorists who suspect she is an alien bent on destroying Earth. Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, Bugonia is an English-language remake of the 2003 South Korean film Save the Green Planet! and reflects contemporary themes relevant to today's world, blending dark humor with human drama. Stone praised Lanthimos for his collaborative directing style and expressed enthusiasm for working with him on challenging projects. Co-star Jesse Plemons emphasized that despite the film's absurdity, it explores deeply human qualities. Bugonia is set for theatrical release on October 24, 2025.
