New York Teens Rescue Family From House Fire Returning From Prom

Four high school students from Whitesboro High School in New York—Aiden Kane, Morgan Randall, Donato Jellenich, and Tyler Sojda—rescued a family from a house fire while returning home from their junior prom. The teens noticed a garage on fire in Marcy and quickly sprang into action, with Donato calling 911, Aiden alerting and evacuating the family, and Morgan comforting the children. Cellphone footage captures Aiden warning the family, including two young girls, and guiding them to safety before the fire spread further. Maynard Fire Chief Jared Pearl praised the students for their quick thinking and composure, noting their actions likely prevented a more serious tragedy and that no one was injured. The teens described the experience as memorable and inspiring, with Aiden citing his father's work in police and EMS as motivation to help. Their bravery and teamwork on prom night have been widely recognized as a heroic effort.
