Kelly Armstrong Sworn in as North Dakota Governor

Kelly Armstrong was sworn in as North Dakota's 34th governor on December 15, marking a significant milestone in the state's 135-year history. The oath was administered by Secretary of State Michael Howe in a ceremony attended by family and former governor Doug Burgum. Armstrong expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve, stating, "Serving the citizens of North Dakota is the honor of a lifetime," and emphasized his eagerness to begin working for the state. He previously served as North Dakota's U.S. representative and won a decisive victory in the November election with 68% of the vote against his opponents. Armstrong succeeds Burgum, who opted not to run for a third term and is set to join President-elect Trump’s administration. Lieutenant Governor Michelle Strinden also took her oath during the ceremony, underscoring a new Republican leadership in the state.
