Silent Witness Returns with New Cast Members

The acclaimed BBC drama Silent Witness is set to return in early 2025 for its 28th season, featuring two new cast members: Maggie Steed as Harriet Maven, the new Head of The Lyell Centre, and Francesca Mills as Kit Brooks, a Crime Analyst. The upcoming season will consist of ten episodes, opening with the unsettling murder of an elderly woman found in a cave, prompting the team to investigate the motives behind such a crime. Both Steed and Mills expressed their excitement about joining the long-running series, highlighting its intriguing nature and strong fanbase. The series has averaged 7.4 million viewers in previous seasons and will now also film in the West Midlands, promising a richer diversity in accents. Executive Producer Suzi McIntosh noted the enthusiasm for the new characters, indicating they will significantly contribute to the unfolding stories. Pre-production for a further series to air in 2026 has already commenced, showcasing the show's ongoing success and commitment to future storytelling.
