Two Arrested in Oceanside Baseball Bat Attacks
Two suspected gang members, 21-year-old Pablo Francisco Gonzalez and 20-year-old Jorge Luis Perez, were arrested in connection with violent attacks on random passers-by with baseball bats near Oceanside Harbor on August 17. The assaults, which occurred shortly before 9 p.m., left multiple victims with serious injuries, including head trauma and a facial fracture. Witnesses reported that the masked attackers appeared to be targeting individuals indiscriminately and even attempted to steal a bystander's cellphone while recording the violence. Police have identified a total of five suspects involved in the attacks and are actively searching for three additional individuals. The suspects are being held without bail pending arraignment. Police have classified the incident as gang-motivated and are urging anyone with information to contact their Gang Crimes Unit.
