Teen Girl Abducted at Gunpoint in Memphis, Suspect Charged

A 14-year-old girl, Genesis Rodriguez, was abducted at gunpoint in Parkway Village, Memphis, on Friday evening. The abductor, described as a man in a black ski mask and green camouflage jacket, took her from the 3000 block of Knightway Road. An AMBER Alert was issued, and she was subsequently found safe in Southaven, Mississippi, early Saturday morning. Police identified the suspect as 19-year-old Diego Velasquez-Espino, who has been charged with aggravated assault. Authorities expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts of local and federal agencies in locating Rodriguez. The suspect is currently in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
