Sabrina Carpenter, J Balvin, Ricky Martin Lead 2025 MTV VMAs Performers in New York

The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards will air live on September 7 from New York's UBS Arena, simulcast on CBS, MTV, and Paramount+. Leading the first wave of performers are Sabrina Carpenter, Alex Warren, J Balvin with DJ Snake, sombr, Ricky Martin, and Busta Rhymes, with additional acts to be announced. Carpenter, nominated for eight awards including video of the year for "Manchild," returns for her second consecutive VMA performance in support of her new album Man’s Best Friend. Busta Rhymes will receive the inaugural MTV VMA Rock the Bells Visionary Award honoring his influential career, while Ricky Martin will be presented with the first-ever Latin Icon Award celebrating his four-decade impact on Latin music and culture. Alex Warren and sombr, both nominated for best new artist, will make their VMA debuts, with Warren also contending for best pop and song of the year for his global hit "Ordinary." The show will be hosted by LL Cool J and features Lady Gaga leading the nominations with 12 nods.
