Guterres Warns of Ethnic Cleansing in Gaza

UN Secretary-General António Guterres has warned that Gaza faces the threat of 'ethnic cleansing' if the international community does not intervene decisively. Guterres highlighted the resilience of the Palestinian people in resisting pressures to flee, while also noting that aid deliveries have plummeted to their lowest levels since the conflict began. He emphasized the need for global action to prevent further atrocities and acknowledged that Jordan’s foreign minister has stated that ethnic cleansing is already occurring. Israel's military, however, denies any systematic attempts to force Palestinians from Gaza, despite widespread international condemnation of recent attacks. Guterres's remarks were made during the COP16 biodiversity conference in Colombia, where he reiterated the commitment to help the Palestinian population remain in their homeland.
