Matt Berninger Announces New Album Get Sunk, 2025 Tour Dates

Matt Berninger, the frontman of The National, has announced his second solo album titled 'Get Sunk,' set for release on May 30 through Book/Concord Records. The album, which follows his 2020 debut 'Serpentine Prison,' includes contributions from notable artists such as Meg Duffy, Booker T. Jones, and members of The Walkmen. The lead single, 'Bonnet of Pins,' showcases Berninger's signature lyrical depth and has been described as both poignant and reflective. Berninger recorded the album primarily in a basement studio in Silverlake, California, collaborating closely with producer Sean O’Brien. To promote the album, he will embark on a North American tour starting May 19, followed by performances in Europe and the UK beginning August 23. The album explores themes of identity and personal growth, reflecting Berninger's artistic evolution since his last release.
