Hoax Bomb Threats Target Indian Flights

In response to a recent surge of hoax bomb threats targeting Indian airlines, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu has stated that these incidents are largely isolated and primarily involve minors and pranksters, dismissing any notion of a larger conspiracy. He condemned these actions as 'mischievous and unlawful,' emphasizing their potential to compromise aviation safety and operational integrity. Naidu confirmed that appropriate actions are being taken, including the arrest of a minor connected to threats against multiple flights, and he is actively monitoring the situation through a high-level committee. He assured that law enforcement agencies are pursuing all cases diligently and that consultations with airlines and security agencies are ongoing. The minister expressed a commitment to enhancing security measures and ensuring that such disruptions do not recur in the future. Approximately 40 flights have received hoax calls since the beginning of the week, creating significant operational challenges for airlines and inconvenience for passengers.
