Basecamp Research Raises $60 Million for AI Protein Development

Basecamp Research, a London-based biotechnology company, has raised $60 million in a Series B funding round led by Singular, bringing its total funding to $85 million. The company aims to tackle the data gap in the biotech industry by creating a comprehensive dataset of proteins found in nature, which will enhance the capabilities of AI in biological design. In collaboration with the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, Basecamp Research plans to develop novel genetic medicines, focusing on programmable fusion proteins and complex biological systems. The startup has already established partnerships with over 15 bioscience companies and is committed to transforming therapeutic research and development.
