Jeju Air Crash in South Korea Kills 179
A catastrophic plane crash involving a Jeju Air Boeing 737-800 at Muan International Airport has resulted in the deaths of 179 people, marking South Korea's deadliest aviation disaster in decades. Investigators from the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and Boeing have arrived to assist in the investigation, focusing on factors such as bird strikes, control system failures, and the flight's emergency landing attempts. The aircraft, which was carrying 181 people, crashed after colliding with a concrete barrier following a distress signal during its second landing attempt. Currently, 141 bodies have been identified, and the South Korean government is conducting safety inspections on all Boeing 737-800 aircraft in the country. Amid the tragedy, families of the victims are demanding answers, and the incident has led to a drop in Boeing's stock price. The investigation continues as authorities analyze technical data and the condition of the crash site.
