Free Tax Prep Assistance Available For Low-Income Bucks County Residents

Low-income residents of Bucks County can access free tax preparation services through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA), which is available until April 15. The program assists individuals and families earning $64,000 or less and is supported by IRS-certified volunteers who are trained on relevant tax laws. Over the past 20 years, VITA has prepared more than 18,000 tax returns, generating over $34 million in refunds and credits for local families. Services are offered at five locations throughout the county, and appointments are required. This initiative is part of the Bucks County Opportunity Council's efforts to improve self-sufficiency and quality of life for residents. Community involvement and volunteer support are crucial to the program's success.
