New Cast Revealed for Hunger Games Prequel
Glenn Close and Billy Porter have joined the cast of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, the sixth film in the franchise, set for release on November 20, 2026. Close will play Drusilla Sickle, the ruthless escort for District 12, and Porter will portray her estranged husband and tributes' designer, Magno Stift—both new characters introduced in Suzanne Collins' novel published in March 2025. The story follows a young Haymitch Abernathy, played by Joseph Zada, as he competes in the Second Quarter Quell, set 24 years before the original trilogy. The cast also features Ralph Fiennes as President Snow, Jesse Plemons as Plutarch Heavensbee, Elle Fanning as a young Effie Trinket, and Kieran Culkin as Caesar Flickerman. The film is directed by Francis Lawrence and produced by Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson. Producers highlighted the blend of franchise veterans and new talent, praising the ensemble's caliber.
