Netflix Sets 2026 Release for 'The Rip'

Netflix will release 'The Rip,' a crime thriller starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck as Miami police detectives, on January 16, 2026. Written and directed by Joe Carnahan and inspired by classic 1970s cop thrillers, the film follows officers whose loyalty is tested after they find millions in cash at a stash house and outside forces get involved. The cast includes Teyana Taylor, Steven Yeun, and Catalina Sandino Moreno; Kyle Chandler and Sasha Calle are no longer listed. Affleck and Damon have compared the film’s tone to 'Training Day.' The project is produced by their company, Artists Equity. Separately, Netflix announced that the final season of 'Stranger Things' will debut in three installments starting November 26, 2025.
