Netflix Assembles Star-Studded Cast for ‘The Age of Innocence’ Limited Series Adaptation
Netflix is developing a limited series adaptation of Edith Wharton's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Age of Innocence, with Emma Frost serving as showrunner and writer. The story explores themes of love, duty, identity, and social ambition in 19th-century New York, focusing on a complex love triangle. The cast includes Camila Morrone as Ellen Olenska, Kristine Froseth as May Welland, Ben Radcliffe as Newland Archer, and Margot Martindale as Mrs. Manson-Mingott, with new series regulars Fiona Glascott, Belinda Bromilow, and Emma Shipp joining to play key family members. The supporting cast features Hayley Mills, Will Tudor, John Light, and several others, expanding the ensemble further. The series aims to stay true to Wharton's novel while speaking to a new generation, following a previous acclaimed 1993 film adaptation directed by Martin Scorsese. No release date has yet been announced for the Netflix series.
